“Cancer” is a scary word to have spoken over your life. Breast cancer is a diagnosis many women dread. The Vocational Service Committee, together with the assistance of their Rotary Anns, organized, in October, a breast cancer awareness presentation during a dinner evening.Guest speakers included one of our popular GP’s and to balance the program, someone who is recovering from the trauma of surgery and giving support councelling.Breast cancer is loaded with myths and these we set out to bust.Repeated advice given: No-one is exempt. Have regular checks.Close on sixty people that evening heard the message loud and clear. They can no longer plead ignorance. Our community can only benefit.Cynthia Schaefer
